لقد عرف العالم الهندسة المدنية منذ قديم الزمان؛ ثم تطورت الهندسة المدنية عبر الأزمان حتى وصلت إلى عصرنا الحديث بحلل جديدة ونماذج إبداعية وتقنيات حديثة تشهد عليها ناطحات السحاب في شتى أنحاء العالم، والجزر الاصطناعية على أطراف شواطئ البحار. وما يلحق ذلك من طرق وجسور وأنفاق وشبكات وبنى تحتية غاية في التعقيد.

إن الهندسة المدنية حالياً تتطرق مواضيع متعددة كالإنشاءات وتصميم شبكات الطرق العادمة، والدراسات المتعلقة بالتربة والأساسات والمساحة.. وغيرها.

وفي الختام لا يسعني إلا أن أدعو الجميع للحفاظ على هذه المسيرة المعطاءة للقسم وطلابه وخريجيه.

Department vision

The Civil Engineering Department at Al-Sham International University aims to graduate specialized engineers capable of handling infrastructure and urban development projects. It also provides students with communication and teamwork skills with other engineering departments, as well as learning the latest global engineering programs for analysis and design.

Department Mission

The Department of Civil Engineering at Al-Sham International University aims to achieve a high academic standard and graduate distinguished engineers capable of handling infrastructure and urban development projects that meet the ongoing needs of urban construction and development and contribute to sustainable development in the future of Syria. The department seeks to develop its research into applied aspects that contribute to serving society and making optimal use of its resources. We also strive to foster and encourage an academic environment that enables students to develop their capacity for innovation, learn professional ethics and conduct, and develop a sense of responsibility toward society.

Strategic objectives of the department

  1. Establish advanced and effective systems for continuous institutional assessment of educational effectiveness, institutional capacity, and quality management.
  2. Develop educational programs, curricula, and teaching and learning methods.
  3. Attract highly qualified faculty members.
  4. Obtain institutional accreditation.
  5. Develop the research capabilities of college faculty members.
  6. Complete and accredit graduate programs to achieve the college's research plan.
  7. Keep scientific research fields in line with technological developments.
  8. Conduct distinguished scientific research.
  9. Develop and promote the department's units and laboratories to serve the community and urban development.
  10. Activate communication with engineering institutions and community organizations.
  11. Complete the establishment and activation of resource development units at the college.
